As the first and only row crop agriculture project to receive an A rating from BeZero Carbon, AgriCapture’s Rice Methane Reduction Project is now the highest rated project under the Soil Enrichment Protocol.
The project is the largest rice methane reduction project in U.S. history, spanning 926 fields across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas. AgriCapture helps participating farmers transition to Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) or furrow irrigation, practices that cut methane emissions by up to 70% and save an average of 300,000 gallons of water per credit.
BeZero Carbon is an independent carbon credit ratings agency which has assessed over 500 carbon projects that have issued credits. Their rigorous evaluation highlights AgriCapture’s climate impact and credit integrity.
