Air bp Signs Agreement With Airbus on Flight Services and Fuel Supplies in Europe

Published by Todd Bush on February 13, 2026

Air bp has signed a multi-year contract with Airbus for the supply of conventional aviation fuel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and related services in Germany and Spain. This agreement enables Air bp, the aerospace division of bp with 600 locations in over 40 countries, to secure one of the largest voluntary purchase commitments for SAF by an aircraft manufacturer (OEM).

Air bp will support a wide range of Airbus activities, including the commercial aircraft, helicopter, and military aircraft business units. The contract covers key activities such as flight testing, customer deliveries, internal transport using the Beluga fleet, and the employee shuttle service that runs daily between Toulouse and Hamburg.

The contract includes special account management, regular technical maintenance in Germany and a new collaboration with Airbus Spain for the supply and storage of aviation fuel as well as for the processes on the aircraft.

Christian Frohn, Vice President of Air bp, explains: “This agreement underlines our strong partnership with Airbus. At the same time, it highlights our ability to offer complex, cross-border solutions that support operational efficiency and emissions reduction. This is another example of the implementation of our strategy. We focus on successful markets and build important partnerships like the one with Airbus.”

SAF can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 80% over its life cycle compared to conventional aviation fuel; however, SAF does not reduce emissions during combustion. Emissions at the wingtip of the aircraft are essentially identical to those of fossil aviation fuel.
