Air Products' Industry Experts to Present Recent Hydrogen Boiler Trials and Hydrogen's Role in Microgrid Resilience
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Feb. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Products (NYSE:APD) will highlight how its industrial gases, such as hydrogen, can help the power industry generate a cleaner future and reach its decarbonization goals at POWERGEN International, from February 11-13, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Those attending POWERGEN International are invited to visit Air Products' booth #1435 to speak with an industry specialist and learn more about how power generators can replace or blend natural gas with low-carbon intensity hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions and meet sustainability goals. Air Products' experts will also be on hand to discuss how power generators can utilize oxygen to improve combustion efficiency, find potential carbon capture and sequestration solutions, or introduce hydrogen to a company's process to reduce emissions.

Air Products' industry experts will present at the following sessions on key hydrogen-related topics:
Preliminary Results of Hydrogen Burner and Boiler Trials โ Air Products is advancing the potential of hydrogen-fired boilers by integrating its burner technology with state-of-the-art boiler systems. Early trials in Air Products' Clean Energy Lab have demonstrated stable 100 percent hydrogen combustion, as well as the ability to blend hydrogen with natural gas for emission reductions. During this session, Timothy Lebrecht, Air Products' Industry Manager, Chemical and Clean Energy Processes, will discuss details of the trial and showcase the impact of different hydrogen blends. Attendees will also gain insight into the commercial opportunities and ideal customer profiles for hydrogen adoption in the power generation sector. The session is scheduled from 10 to 10:45 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Room C140.
Hydrogen Approaches to Microgrid Applications โ As renewable energy becomes a larger part of the energy mix, hydrogen can serve as a reliable load-balancer or backup fuel, enhancing the resilience of microgrids. In this session, Timothy Lebrecht and David Duhamel, Air Products' Americas Strategy and Analytics Manager, will share insights into hydrogen supply chain logistics, power generation applications, and innovative solutions to maximize operability. Attendees will also learn how hydrogen can complement renewable energy in microgrids, creating a sustainable, low-carbon energy ecosystem. The session is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CST on Thursday, Feb. 13 in Room C145.
