Holcim has invested in Capsol Technologies, a listed Norwegian company specializing in carbon capture technologies. Capsol’s post-combustion carbon capture and heat recovery system delivers superior efficiency with a proven and safe hot potassium carbonate solvent (HPC). HPC technology is a mature, energy-efficient chemical absorption process used to remove CO2 from gas streams, that is widely applicable in post-combustion carbon capture. As the leading partner for sustainable construction, Holcim aims to apply Capsol’s technology to further advance its decarbonization roadmap and drive profitable growth.
Ram Muthu, Head of Operational Excellence, Holcim: “By combining Holcim’s expertise in cement manufacturing and on-site carbon capture with Capsol’s safe and efficient technology, we have an additional lever to advance decarbonization and drive profitable growth. Through this strategic investment, we are one step closer to producing near-zero cement at scale to meet growing customer demand.”
