LoCI Controls Expands to Canada to Support Growth of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Sector

Company brings automated landfill gas technology and first Canadian hire to support operators maximizing RNG project performance and ROI

LONDON, ON, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LoCI Controls, Inc. today announced the launch of LoCI Controls Canada, extending the company's position as a market and technology leader in helping landfill operators maximize the financial performance of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects.

RNG has emerged as one of the fastest-growing pathways for landfill gas in North America, converting methane that would otherwise be flared or vented into a marketable, low-carbon fuel. For operators, the economics depend on capturing and delivering gas efficiently, which requires knowing, in real time, what's happening underground.

The launch comes as momentum builds around RNG in Canada more broadly, including recent federal investment in expanding RNG production capacity in Ontario. It also comes as landfill operators look ahead to new federal methane requirements, which will phase in beginning in 2028 for larger sites with existing gas collection systems, a shift LoCI's real-time monitoring is also well-positioned to support.

LoCI is already active at three Canadian landfill sites— two in Ontario and one in Quebec —where RNG projects are nearing commissioning and commercial gas sales. The deployments have also demonstrated the system's ability to perform through Canadian seasonal conditions, including prolonged freezing temperatures. At one participating site, methane flow and energy delivered to the gas plant increased by approximately 14% following deployment of LoCI's automated control system.

To support that growth, LoCI Controls Canada has hired its first Canadian employee, Meaghan Amaral, who will provide local field support and training for existing operations and help lead business development across the country's RNG sector as LoCI's Service Representative and Territory Manager.

Landfill gas is largely managed manually today with technicians traveling into the field to measure individual wells and adjust gas flow by hand, even as weather, barometric pressure, moisture and decomposing waste change underground conditions between visits. LoCI's system gives operators a continuous, real-time view instead. It:

• Measures individual landfill gas wells in as quickly as 15-minute intervals, including gas composition, flow, temperature and pressure.

• Automatically adjusts wellhead valves as conditions change to maintain site-specific target operating parameters.

• Centralized wellfield data in WellWatcher, LoCI's cloud-based platform, where operators can monitor performance and identify issues remotely.
