The North America Climate Summit (NACS 2025) is the premier forum for carbon market practitioners, government officials, business leaders, and innovators driving climate and clean energy solutions across North America and globally. As in previous years, NACS is an official affiliate event of New York Climate Week and the UN General Assembly.

Organized by IETA, in collaboration with the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and a wide network of regional and global partners, NACS 2025 will take place 23–25 September in New York City, bringing together more than 800 participants from across the continent and beyond.
With high-level plenaries, strategic roundtables, and deep-dive technical sessions, NACS 2025 offers a vital platform to shape the future of carbon markets, unlock investment, and advance climate ambition through economic strength and innovation. A selection of key summit themes include:
Mid-year status and outlook for compliance carbon markets across the U.S. (California Air Resources Board, RGGI, Washington State Department of Ecology), Canada, and Mexico
Operationalizing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and key milestones to watch ahead of COP30 in Belém, Brazil
ICAO’s CORSIA program and its implications for international aviation
Status of – and reactions to – the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) including its relevance for North American industry and policy
Evolving role of verified carbon markets, including status of high integrity meta-standards, transparency, market infrastructure and new coalitions
