Senior Analyst at Phoenix Hydrogen

We are looking for an Analyst to join the Phoenix Hydrogen team. In this role, you will be tasked with building the most comprehensive hydrogen project database for North America. The role will involve management (people and projects) as well as individual contributor work on data and deliverables. Finally, this role will interact significantly with our software product arm, and inform our product's features and roadmap. This is an opportunity for an experienced analyst to drive significant impact at an early-stage startup, and help catalyze a new wave of capital for renewable energy. About Us

Phoenix Hydrogen provides software and services to support planning and trade at multi-stakeholder hydrogen hubs. Our software platform connects energy buyers and sellers with capital, customers, vendors, and others by characterizing in-development projects and brokering agreements between market participants. Our service arm helps the creation and operation of hubs, and provides white-glove service to other stakeholders using our platform to meet their goals. Our vision is to broker sustainable energy deals at gigawatt scale, and thereby finance more renewables to replace fossil fuels. We were founded in 2021.

Knowledge of the domestic energy landscape is required, but hydrogen-specific work may not be required. Most importantly, a desire to develop a deep understanding of the energy industry and an unquestioned commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.

You Will

  • Manage and deliver significant analysis projects; initial work will focus on building a project database around hydrogen hubs in the United States. Example tasks you might manage or do:
  • Assimilate and synthesize market trends, customer and competitor analysis.
  • Conduct research and analyze trends in the energy industry.
  • Build models, perform analysis and explore complex transactions within our product.
  • Interact substantially (and help to design) our software platform
  • Use our platform to deliver results to stakeholders; manage data entry; interact with services team and customers
  • Identify, refine, & accurately communicate product gaps to the team helping to develop and manage the feedback cycle.
  • Communicate with customers to source data and (with services team) deliver results
  • Manage (and help recruit) a small team of Jr Analysts covering multiple projects, including administrative tasks (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)

  • A team player with a positive attitude and enjoys wearing many hats to see a project through to completion.
  • An effective collaborator with an ability to establish and maintain lasting relationships both internally and externally.
  • Expertise analyzing, interpreting, and utilizing data to make sound business decisions.
  • Established research and analytical abilities with ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
  • Must be excited to "roll up your sleeves" and personally drive outcomes and achievement.
  • Incredibly detail oriented and have expert analytical skills.
  • Judicious and flexible with ever changing environments.
  • Highly organized self-starter and motivated to see projects through to completion.
  • Comfortable with high levels of context switching and a fast-paced startup.

You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Higher level education preferred (Master's Degree, PhD etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in related roles.
  • Expert MS excel modeling skills.
  • Comfortable with advanced SQL queries.
  • Experience in clean energy market development and corporate strategy is a plus.
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy and the mission of Phoenix Hydrogen.
