Claude Letourneau, President and CEO of Svante, expressed his enthusiasm about the honor: "This acknowledgment is a testament to our team's unwavering commitment to pioneering sustainable carbon capture and removal solutions. As we launch our first gigafactory in Vancouver, capable of producing enough filters to capture 10 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, we're catalyzing a new era: a rewiring of the industrial sector so that it can make low carbon intensity products by leveraging our innovative technology that can stop CO₂ from going into the atmosphere and equally remove it from the ambient air."
Svante's groundbreaking structured adsorbent filter technology offers industries a commercially viable and environmentally responsible solution for capturing and removing CO₂ from both industrial emissions and the atmosphere (called direct air capture or DAC). The trapped CO₂ can be permanently stored underground or repurposed into other products ranging from sustainable aviation fuel to industrial products and consumer goods.
The company's innovative approach has garnered attention across various sectors, including pulp & paper, cement, steel, oil & gas, and DAC. Svante was recently inducted into the Cleantech Group’s Global Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame and has also been featured on the XPRIZE’s XB100 World’s Top Deep Tech Companies list. The company’s inclusion in the World's Top GreenTech Companies of 2025 list further cements its status as a global leader in carbon management.
As Svante continues to expand its operations and optimize its unique technology, the recognition from TIME and Statista serves as a powerful endorsement of the company's vision and potential to drive significant positive change in the world’s ability to manage CO₂ emissions.
Svante is a purpose-driven, leading carbon capture and removal solutions provider. The Vancouver, Canada-based company manufactures nanoengineered filters and modular rotary contactor machines that capture and remove CO₂ from industrial emissions and the air in an environmentally responsible manner. Svante is on the 2025 Global Cleantech 100 and was recently inducted into the Global Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame.
